The Central Cemetery in Szczecin is the largest necropolis in Poland and the third largest in Europe. It was designed in the form of a park, so there is an abundance of diverse vegetation. Trees, shrubs, hedges planted in a very precise way along majestic avenues. Particularly important here are the avenues of plane trees beautifully discolored in early autumn. All this makes a walk through the cemetery a real pleasure. The huge area of 170 hectares, in addition to rich vegetation, presents visitors with many monuments, water reservoirs and even the ruins of a military fort.
Due to such a wide variety of this space, the cemetery’s administrators have designated thematic trails for visitors. The most important of these are the thematic tract and the botanical path.
To meet all those who are curious about the history and legends associated with the The cemetery, the Szczecińska Turystyka Wydarzenia company invites you to two free walks with a guide – Ms. Magdalena Hanusz. Those interested will meet on November 3 and 10 at 11:00 am at the main gate of the Central Cemetery.
Registration is required for the walk.
