PFRON offers subsidies for the purchase or repair of medical devices issued by a doctor’s order. A Ukrainian citizen with a disability can receive this assistance under Module I of the program “Assistance to Ukrainian citizens with disabilities.” Applications along with the necessary documents can be submitted to the MOPR. Medical devices that are not 100% financed by the NFZ can be subsidized. These may include, for example, prostheses, orthopedic appliances and orthoses, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, balconies, orthopedic shoes, infusion sets for personal insulin pumps, diapers, catheters, stoma equipment.
The subsidy can be applied for items purchased after February 24, 2022. Assistance is provided to Ukrainian citizens with disabilities if they meet the following conditions:
– their residence on the territory of the Republic of Poland is recognized as legal, pursuant to Article 2 (1) of the Law on Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine in Connection with Armed Conflict
– have a document confirming the I or II degree of disability issued under the Ukrainian system of disability adjudication, or in the absence of such a document, a statement that you have it will suffice. This also applies to children, in which case a statement by the guardian that they have such a document issued to children under the Ukrainian disability rating system is sufficient.
