On November 8 punctually at12:00 voting will start for projects submitted to this year’s edition of the Szczecin Citizens’ Budget. Residents will be able to choose what to cast their votes for out of 149 proposals submitted.
The Szczecin Civic Budget is a special type of social consultation, the aim of which is to involve residents in the process of deciding how to spend part of the city budget. The first edition of this unusual undertaking took place in 2013.
SBO is a project that is co-created by residents and for residents. It is thanks to it that residents can directly influence the city by proposing their own ideas for investments and selecting for implementation those that meet the needs of local communities or the entire city.
A special category of SBO is the so-called “Green SBO.” It is dedicated to ideas concerning the protection of the urban natural environment. Their implementation is expected to lead to improving the condition and increasing the area of green areas in Szczecin and mitigating the effects of climate change. Importantly, green projects submitted to the SBO can concern both a specific neighborhood and the entire city.
This year, residents of Szczecin will be able to cast their votes until November 23 (by 12:00 pm).
